Ghana’s leading urban radio station, Y107.9FM is set to commence the next season of its authoritative leadership show, the Y Leaderboard Series on today, November 3.
Though, a relatively new segment on the ‘Myd Morning Show’, the station says the impact has been great as leaders and achievers in various industries in Ghana and beyond have been hosted to provide inspiration to the youth.
As it has always been the norm, organizers of the show say the next season of the Y Leaderboard Series will highlight the brilliant works of leaders in the fields of politics, entertainment, telecommunications, sports, hospitality and events, education, entrepreneurship, among many others.
“Undoubtedly, the varied guests on the show will give each person something to be inspired about,” the organizers said. YFM hopes that the varied guests on the show will give each listener something to be inspired about.
Rev. Erskine Amo Whyte, a seasoned media personality will return as host of the show this season. Rev. Whyte through the show is bridging the gap between the young and old, the mentor and the mentee as well as the leader and the follower.
In a soul-stirring message to Ghanaian youths ahead of the show, the radio personality shared that while young ones live life to its fullest, they must endeavor to change the course of the nation by heeding to advice from the older generation.
During an interview with Happy FM’s Doctar Cann on the ‘Showbiz Xtra’ show, Rev Erskine admonished that the youths should look up to those who have made it in life and compare it to theirs to change what needs to be changed.
“I feel that if those ahead of us had the opportunity we have now, the country would have been more developed than it is now,” he said.
He encouraged the young ones to take advantage of the Y Leaderboard Series and see it as “a perfect opportunity for all of us once in a week to face reality and ask ourselves the right questions and get the right answers”.
“I will be glad to win your hearts and change your lives every Wednesday morning 10am-12pm on Y107.9FM”, he added.
For him, the Program Manager of YFM Accra, Mr. Eddy Blay assured that this season will have insightful episodes with astute leaders who will guide the youths in choosing the right path to success.
“We have a tall list of great leaders who are going to give the Ghanaian youth some form of mentorship, motivation and words of wisdom. Every season of the Y Leaderboard Series gets better with each passing time just like aging fine wine. We promise our listeners nothing short of quality,” he said.
Mr. Blay also extended his gratitude to leaders who supported the show since its inception and those who are yet to feature in the new season. He also encouraged listeners to follow the next season on all YFM’s social media platforms.
The previous seasons of the Y Leaderboard Series hosted leaders such as Kennedy Agyapong, John Dumelo, Azumah Nelson, Stonebwoy, Ashesi’s Dr. Patrick Awuah, among others.
