Entries have officially opened for the 2022 Radio Awards, in South Africa. Entries were officially opened on Wednesday, March 16.
The awards honors outstanding achievements in the South African radio industry and sets a benchmark for all radio stations and professionals to strive towards.
It is dedicated to fairness and integrity and is focused on being a credible, well-judged transparent program that recognizes exceptional and innovative excellence in South African radio.
Arena Events which owns the Radio Awards said it respects the achievements of the many talented men and women in the radio industry and is proud to continue to recognize and honor South Africa’s outstanding radio talent, from in-front-of-the mic presenters to behind-the-scenes producers.
“In doing so, we aim to ensure that radio remains one of South Africa’s foremost media choices,” the organizer said.
This year’s Radio Awards will mark the event’s twelfth year of honoring outstanding achievements in the radio industry, setting benchmarks for all stations and professionals to strive towards.
There are 29 categories of awards to be awarded this year. Stations have until 31 May 2022 to submit their entries, as an awards hybrid event will be held 1 October.
The head of Arena Events, Taryn Westoby his team is delighted once again host the premier awards program celebrating South Africa’s finest talent in radio broadcasting.
“Radio has played such an important part in keeping people informed and feeling connected during what has been an extremely hard time during the pandemic,” Westoby said.
She added that radio remains one of the most accessible platforms for engaging millions of South Africans.
