A Cape Town based commercial AM radio station in South Africa, CapeTalk has announced Clarence Ford, a local music radio presenter as its new radio presenter.
Ford will be standing in for mid-morning host Lester Kiewit from Monday, April 11, to Thursday, April 14 in the 09:00 – midday weekday time slot.
Tessa van Staden, CapeTalk’s station manager, said the station is honored to welcome Ford to the CapeTalk airwaves.
“He is truly a radio veteran, loved and respected by so many. We’re excited to hear this long time CapeTalk listener share his ideas in this new format,” van Staden said.
“Talk radio is a new and interesting beat for him — one that allows him to truly showcase his curiosity and passion for a wide range of topics.”
Lester Kiewit, host of The Morning Review, adds that he is a long-standing fan of Ford. “Ford is a broadcasting legend and a real stand-up guy. I’m leaving my listeners in the very capable hands of someone I think they’ll really enjoy. Personally, I can’t wait to listen to his show”.
Ford said he is a big fan and listener of CapeTalk and the opportunity to learn and add to the medium add to him resume and challenged himself by trying something new that had him nervous and very excited.
“I hope the listeners will be kind and listen with a forgiving ear. I may even be able to convince CapeTalk to play one or two of my favorite jazz songs at the start of the week,” he said.
Meanwhile, individuals are urged to listen to Ford on The Morning Review, weekdays from 09:00 – midday, on radio frequency 567 AM. Individuals can access live streaming here. It will also be available on DStv audio bouquet channel 885.
