Joy FM Liberia’s senior reporter, Dennise Nimpson has ended her service with the station, after five years. Nimpson joined Joy FM in March 2018 and became senior reporter, after previously working for Prime FM, in Monrovia.
She announced her departure from Joy FM on Sunday, March 12, in a post on social media.
“Sometimes, we leave our comfort zone. Joy FM will always be home. Coworkers, working with you all was wonderful,” she wrote on Facebook.
“To my friends and followers, thank you for making me who I am as well, and keep following. Journalism is my passion and I embrace the task ahead.”
Although she did not mention where she was heading next, she told RadioInfo that she would be taking up a new role as Head of Programs at Atlantic Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Radio. She will also cohost the breakfast show, The Morning Breeze.
According to her, she sees the move to ABC Radio as an opportunity to make better of herself and the people around her.
“I feel optimistic and anxious because I left a place I considered home for many years and entered a new environment that may expect a lot from me, and I expect to also learn a lot from people of different backgrounds,” she added.
She also looks forward to helping ABC Radio achieve its goals, which according to her are focused on promoting peace and harmony, through education, information and quality programming.
Her announcement was greeted by a ton of congratulatory messages from followers and institutions, including the Press Union of Liberia.
“Congratulations to you Dennise Nimpson, for your preferment as Director of Programs at the ABC Radio. The Union is proud of you,” PUL said.
