Kwatekeh FM, a community radio station operating in central Liberia has completed its modern state-of-the-art media house in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The construction of the new broadcast house estimated at over US$67,000 according to reports began in 2015. It is so far the biggest broadcast house own by any single community radio station in Liberia.
With a nice ventilation and a mixture of beautiful colors mostly orange, Gold and Black, the building is comprised of 10 offices, a newsroom, conference room, a broadcast studio, guest waiting room, two bathrooms as well as front and back porches.
Scores of commendations have continued to pour in from the media community and beyond on the completion of the project, which is headed by a local journalist in Bong County, Papa Morris.
Morris is a Correspondent for the state broadcaster, ELBC in central Liberia.
According to a FrontPageAfrica’ s report, among those pouring commendation on Morris and members of his team on the worthwhile initiative is the national broadcaster, the Liberia Broadcasting Service (LBS).
“We at LBS are extremely proud of all your accomplishments,” the national broadcaster was quoted as saying.
The official dedication of the project, according to officials of the station will take place in in late April 2022.
Kwatekeh has though relatively new is standing out to become one of the strongest community radio stations in the county. The station won the Best Station of the region in 2019 from the Press Union of Liberia.
