South Africa’s number one urban radio station, METRO FM has announced expansion into multi-channel programs, including podcasts and digital platforms.
The expansion, a transformative journey into the realm of multi-channel broadcasting sets the stage for an enhanced listening experience, allowing its audience to access its programs.
From October, the station has announced to expand beyond traditional radio programming, introducing a variety of platforms designed to connect with audiences; ‘Whenever, wherever, and however they choose’.
As part of this ambitious evolution, the station is set to launch its exclusive podcast channel, METRO FM Off-Air.
The inaugural episode titled: A Legacy Unfolded, invites listeners to explore the station’s profound impact on South Africa’s urban radio scene.
This podcast promises to deliver a compelling mix of behind-the-scenes stories and insightful interviews, chronicling crucial milestones and the influential personalities who have shaped the station’s success.

The debut episode celebrates the station’s remarkable trajectory, from its humble beginnings to becoming a major player in media.
