South Africa’s Radio Awards has announced that public voting for the 12th MyStation Competition has opened. The MyStation competition calls for listening audiences to support South African radio stations by voting for them. Voting closes on Friday, 24 June.
The Radio Awards honors outstanding achievements in the South African radio industry and sets a benchmark for all radio stations and professionals to strive towards. The program is dedicated to fairness and integrity and is focused on being a credible, well-judged transparent program that recognizes exceptional and innovative excellence in South African radio.
By voting, listeners are automatically entered a lucky draw where they stand the chance to win R40 000 cash prize.
According to the awards, there is no limit on the number of votes they may cast.
Listener voting determines the winners of two separate MyStation Awards.
The Most Votes Award is for the station that receives the highest number of online votes and the Most Loyal Listener Award is for the station that earns the most votes as a ratio against their listenership.
The head of Arena events, Taryn Westoby said handing over the MyStation Awards has remained an excitement.
“The winner is determined by listeners who identify strongly with stations and look to support them for this popularity accolade,” Westoby said.
Previous MyStation Award winners include Pretoria FM, Hot 91.9 FM, Ligwalagwala FM, Radio Islam, Ukhozi FM, Umhlobo Wenene, Thobela FM, Groot FM, Radio 2000, Mix 93.8 FM, and Overvaal Stereo.
Listeners are encouraged to join the conversation using ‘#MyStationCompetition’ and ‘#SARadioAwards’.
