The Association of Liberia Community Radio has begun intensifying public engagements with members of the 55th legislature to solicit support for the passage of the draft community radio bill.
In 2023, ALICOR submitted the draft bill to the Chairperson and members of the House’s Committee on Information and Broadcasting, which was followed by a meeting with the Former Speaker of the House Speaker, Bohfal Chambers.
Since then, the leadership of ALICOR headed by Radio Gbehzohn manager, Hector Mulbah has continued to engage the legislature for the passage of the instrument into law.
On Friday, February 9, ALICOR President, Mulbah also held a fruitful discussion with the new Chairman of the House’s Committee on Information and Broadcasting, Hon. Bernard Benson Blue, and presented a copy of the Bill.
Rep. Blue, founder of the commercial radio Hott FM in Monrovia is expected to speak at the 13th World Radio Day Celebration taking place today in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, where he is expected to lay out his plans for the Community Radio Sector of Liberia relative to the bill.
