Entry closes for Liberia community radio station excellence awards

The Association of Liberia Community Radios (ALICOR) has announced the end of entry submissions for the 2023 community radio excellence award program.

Entry submissions closed today, January 31, less than two weeks to the awards ceremony. The awards ceremony will form part of activities for this year’s World Radio Day (WRD) celebration.

This year’s WRD celebration under the theme “Radio and Peace” will take place in Ganta, Nimba County, on February 13 and 14, with support from Internews Liberia.

“Today January 31, 2023, is the last day for the ALICOR Excellence Award Entry submission. Best of luck to all those that submitted, let’s gather in Ganta on February 13-14 for the award ceremony and the World Radio Day celebration,” ALICOR announced.

The association, however, did not disclosed the number of entries received.

February 13 February in 2011 was proclaimed by UNESCO as World Radio Day, to celebrate radio broadcast, improve international cooperation among radio broadcasters and encourage decision-makers to create and provide access to information through radio, including community radios.
