Moses Garzeawu, BBC News’ correspondent in Liberia, has officially resigned from his post, marking the end of a tenure that began in March 2023.

During his time with the global broadcaster, Garzeawu reported extensively on governance, elections, justice, climate, and community issues, reaching audiences across radio, television, digital platforms, and social media. His reporting sought to amplify underrepresented voices and provide in-depth coverage of Liberia’s political and social landscape.

Reflecting on his experience, Garzeawu noted that the role came with its challenges, sometimes misunderstood but often deeply valued. “Through it all, this role strengthened my resilience and elevated my journalistic journey,” he said in a statement shared on social media.

He credited collaboration with BBC teams in London, Nairobi, Lagos, and Abuja for broadening his perspective and honing his craft. He expressed gratitude for the lessons learned, the trust placed in him, and the lasting professional relationships he formed during his tenure.

As he steps away from his official duties, Garzeawu hinted at new opportunities ahead, describing the next chapter of his career as “even more inspiring.”
