Citizen Radio tops Kenya’s airwaves in latest IPSOS audience rankings

Citizen Radio has maintained its position as Kenya’s most listened-to radio station, securing the largest share of the national audience, according to the latest IPSOS Radio Audience Measurement Survey for the fourth quarter of 2025.

The IPSOS report, covering the period from October to December 2025, places Citizen Radio at the top of the rankings with a 17% market share, underscoring its continued dominance in one of Africa’s most competitive radio markets.

Radio 47 emerged in second place with a 9% share, delivering a strong performance for a relatively new entrant. Its rise ahead of several long-established broadcasters highlights shifting audience preferences and growing appetite for alternative radio content, particularly among younger and urban listeners.

Radio Jambo ranked third with a 7.2% market share, followed by Kameme Radio at 5.7%, reflecting the enduring appeal of vernacular stations with deeply rooted regional audiences.

Competition remains tight in the mid-tier segment. Milele FM and Ramogi FM are tied at 4.7% each, while Chamgei FM recorded 4.1%. Radio Maisha followed closely with a 3.9% share. Inooro FM and



 posted 3.7% and 3.3% respectively, reinforcing the strong performance of community-oriented and vernacular broadcasters.

Musyi FM and Kass FM completed the rankings with market shares of 2.5% and 2.4%.
