Neodata Group says its AI-powered Video Intelligence platform has reduced audio description production costs by approximately 90% in a deployment with a media company managing thousands of hours of content, as European broadcasters and streaming platforms face new accessibility obligations under the European Accessibility Act.

The platform analyses video content to automatically recognise scenes, characters, actions and visual context, then generates synchronised audio descriptions that can be reviewed, refined or published as an optional accessibility track. It operates on top of existing video archives and media asset management (MAM) infrastructures, without requiring migration projects.

With podcasters and radio broadcasters also streaming live pictures they too need to consider accessibility options.

Audio description is one of several capabilities within the Video Intelligence platform, which also covers metadata enrichment, ad break detection, archive search and content discovery.
