Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels helps with life-saving surgery

Jacaranda FM has announced that its Good Morning Angels has raised and donated R15 000 for seven-year-old Labrador Turbo’s life-saving surgery. Turbo is 16-year-old and is Luzé’s best friend, companion, and emotional support animal.

The dog has been a part of Luzé’s life since she was 11 years old and helped her through her parent’s divorce and the fact that Luzé’s dad is no longer part of her life.

Earlier in 2022, Luzé and her mom Karen noticed that Turbo had started limping and a vet visit confirmed that Turbo was in great pain due to a problem with one of his legs. According to the station, the vet explained that Turbo would need to undergo surgery at a cost of R15 000 while following a special diet while in treatment as well.

Unfortunately, the family said that the cost is too great for Luzé and Karen who reached out to Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels for help.

After sharing Turbo’s devastating story on air, Martin Bester shared that the GMA Fund will assist Karen and Luzé with the R15 000 needed for Turbo’s treatment.

Additionally, Bob Martin has come on board to assist Karen and Luzé with food and other necessities to look after their beloved Turbo and keep him healthy and happy. The brand shared that they would assist this family for a full year to the value of R12 000.

The station adds that if individuals know of a pet, whose family is struggling to look after them, they can let the station know.

Earlier, Jacaranda FM and Plascon announced donating R50 000 and a room makeover to help 12-year-old Justin Ouwenkamp live more comfortably as he battles an incurable disease.

The donation was done with Breakfast with Martin Bester on Jacaranda FM, Good Morning Angels as it teamed up with Plascon and the crew from Mzansi Room Rescue on SABC 3’s Afternoon Express.

Justin is a 12-year-old boy from Pretoria, the only child of his single mom, Jolene Ouwenkamp. The household says that over the past four years, their lives have changed dramatically.
