Program Manager Maekanya Morotoba said: “The announcement of DJ Fresh was a major moment for Kaya 959, but it was also the start of a bigger story. We are now showing listeners the full picture. This is a schedule with pace, personality and purpose. We are excited to welcome Sweetness Motsepe from You FM and Dee Nkomo from Capricorn FM, and to welcome Nonn Botha back to the Kaya 959 family. Their addition strengthens the station’s connection with listeners and adds even more character to our weekend sound.”
Morotoba described the schedule as built around the Gauteng audience: “Kaya 959 has always been about more than filling time slots. It is about companionship, culture, music, conversation and connection. Our listeners are switched on, expressive and ambitious. They want radio that understands their world. This line-up gives them energy in the morning, ease during the day, personality on the drive home, substance in the evening and beautiful music experiences over the weekend.”
On the new and returning talent, he said: “Sweetness, Dee and Nonn each bring something distinctive. Sweetness brings warmth, musicality and an instinctive connection with audiences. Dee brings fresh momentum and a strong radio presence. Nonn’s return brings familiarity, soul and a deep Kaya connection. Together with our established voices, they help create a full Kaya 959 experience.”
“We are excited about what this line-up brings. Fresh is part of the momentum, but the real strength is how the full schedule now comes together. This is about breakfast, weekdays, weekends, music, conversation and the complete Kaya 959 listener journey.”
