Liberia Broadcasting System presents annual performance awards to staff

The Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has presented annual performance awards to some of its staff, for their work and dedication in the year 2023.

The award ceremony bringing together several journalists and personalities took place recently at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Monrovia.

Among those who received awards, Zoquay Beysolow-Konneh was honored as recipient of the station’s Best Newscaster award for the second, after also winning the award in 2022.

In 2020, she also won the Rising Star Award at LBS.

Konneh is also winner of the Press Union of Liberia 2019-2020 Best News Caster award winner.

Recounting her experience at the station, she said although there have been some challenging moments, she feels successful.

She praised the management of the station for the many learning opportunities it continues to provide her. “All of these have added to my professional career and for this I remain grateful,” she said.

I have also had some professional colleagues in the Newsroom and the Press Union of Liberia who guided me along the way. They are the real MVPs.”

She also added, “One interesting thing is that these awards are accompanied by cash prizes, something that I like so much..”

Other winners of the LBS annual award include Anthony Williams, Employee of the year; Varflay Kamara, Employee of the news department, of the Year; Vasta Jenaweh Tarlue, Contractor of the year; Melvin Stewart, Employee of the Radio Department, of the Year, among others.
