Renowned Kissi broadcaster Elijah Bundoo passes away; Representative Thomas Fallah extends condolences

The Liberian media landscape is mourning the loss of veteran radio broadcaster Elijah Bundoo, a distinguished voice within the Kissi broadcasting community who served for years at the state broadcaster, the Liberia Broadcasting System (ELBC).

The news of his passing was confirmed by the Representative of Lofa County’s District #1 (Foya Statutory District) and Deputy Speaker of the Liberian House of Representatives, Thomas Fallah, who visited the grieving family to extend official sympathies on behalf of the district.

Hailing from Sorlumba Town in Foya Statutory District, Bundoo was widely recognized for his dedication to community-focused and national radio broadcasting. Throughout his career, most notably at ELBC, he used his platform to inform, educate, and bridge communication gaps for the Kissi-speaking population and the nation at large.

In a social media post, Deputy Speaker Fallah described the veteran broadcaster’s passing as a profound loss that extends far beyond his immediate household.

This is a loss not only to the Bundoo family, but to our district and to the media community he served with distinction,” Fallah stated.

Bundoo is survived by several children, including Ambassador Nora Finda Bundo, who previously served as the Chief of Protocol to then president of Liberia, George Weah.

Offering words of solace to the bereaved family during his visit, Representative Fallah expressed solidarity with the family during their period of mourning. “On behalf of the people of Foya and myself, I extend profound condolences to the bereaved family. May the Almighty God grant you all strength and comfort during this difficult time and may the soul of Mr. Bundoo rest in perfect peace.”

Funeral arrangements and official memorial services from the family and the media community are expected to be announced in the coming days.
