Radio broadcasters take center stage at Orange Liberia media awards

Truth FM journalist O’Neal Robert and entertainment radio station Hot FM have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to broadcasting, as Orange Liberia honored top-performing media partners during an awards ceremony in Monrovia.

The event highlighted the vital role of radio in informing communities and shaping public discourse, with both the presenter and station receiving top accolades for excellence in programming and audience engagement.

Among the standout winners, talk show host O’Neal Robert was named Best Urban Presenter, while Hot FM Radio secured the award for Best Partnership Institution, underscoring the growing influence of radio as a key platform for corporate communication and public outreach.

Speaking at the ceremony, Orange Liberia’s Human Resource Manager, Supu H. W. Cole Sr., emphasized the company’s reliance on radio to reach audiences across both urban and rural areas. He noted that radio remains one of the most effective channels for disseminating information, particularly in regions where access to digital media is limited.

The awards also recognized rural radio presenters, reflecting the medium’s broad reach and its role in bridging information gaps beyond major cities. More than 20 radio stations and media institutions received certificates of partnership, highlighting the strong collaboration between the telecommunications provider and local broadcasters.

Receiving his award, Robert expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering quality programming and promoting public awareness.

The ceremony, which brought together radio professionals, media executives, and industry stakeholders, reinforced the central role of radio in Liberia’s media landscape, where it continues to serve as a trusted source of news, education, and community engagement.
