Good Hope FM has announced that from Sunday, 4 August, the station will spice things up with Cape Town’s Original Sundaze, a mix of music that aims to be unlike any other.
The station has always been well-known for its top-class music — pumping contemporary hits with a mixture of R&B, Pop, Hip Hop, Dance, Ballads and Old School, says Good Hope FM.
So, in keeping with what has made Good Hope FM a household favourite, Cape Town’s Original Sundaze will see all Sunday shows focussed on exploring these genres by taking listeners on a musical journey through time, the station adds.
The radio station says that it will be stepping into the rhythm of nostalgia with iconic sounds of the 1980s, 1990s and naughties, featuring chart-topping hits from artists like:
Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men, TLC, Neo, Santana, Luther Vandross, and Light House Family.
The whole Sunday line-up, according to the station, will take listeners right back to the times when the most epic memories were made — reliving all of the favourite moments. The line-up includes:
The Weekend Breakfast with Maka Tanga from 06:00 to 09:00
The Sunday Feela with Rinaldo Felaar from 09:00 to midday
Thank Garth It’s Sunday with Garth B from midday to 15:00
The Weekend Special with Carissa Cupido from 15:00 to 18:00
The Sunset Smoothie with Bradley Knight from 18:00 to 22:00, and
The Sunday Chilla with Fauzia Bull from 22:00 to 01:00.
Good Hope FM’s program manager Gerard Muller said, “Music possesses the power to take you back to that amazing party, that awesome road trip, that massive celebration, that first dance, that first kiss, that moment in time that you want to relive again and again.”
“Cape Town’s Original Sundaze harnesses this power to bring you a musical experience — a walk through the highlights reel of your life — that nothing else can beat. It’s the kind of stuff that’ll always have listeners coming back for more,” Muller concluded.
