Hot 102.7FM Hosts 2021 Teddython fundraises

HOT 102.7FM in Johannesburg, South Africa has announced the hosting of the 2021 Teddython fundraiser.

Every year, the commercial radio station through its Hot Cares initiative touches as many lives as humanly possible. It reaches out to organizations who share in its vision and passion for making a difference.

Since its inception Hot Cares has provided bursaries at all levels of education; assistance for severe medical conditions; aid to victims of crime and/or natural disasters; renovations to schools, community and ECD centers; a weekly soup kitchen restoring dignity to the homeless; food and financial assistance for animals in distress, as well as support and comfort to the elderly.

The event is set to take place at Papachinos in Broadacres Today, 25 November.

The Teddython will aim to raise much-needed funds and goods for Hot Cares NPC, which will enable the project to make a difference in the lives of others.

“Hot Cares concentrates on four key pillars of aid, being animal welfare, humanitarian, medical and education,” says Carmen Rocha, manager at Hot Cares.

“Over the past two years, we have been inundated with increasing requests for aid, some even coming from people who have previously contributed to Hot Cares,” adds Rocha.

The initiative relies on the money and goods raised through the Teddython, as well as through ongoing donations from organizations and individuals, throughout the year.

Donations can be made by calling in a donation to the Teddython on 010 880 8351; coming to Papachinos today; by means of the Hot Cares website, and / or through monthly contributions.

As a registered Public Benefit Organization (PBO Reference No. 930070149) and a Level 1 BBBEE contributor, Hot Cares can issue a Section 18A Certificate, making all donations (financial and goods in kind) tax-deductible. This applies to both individual and corporate donors.

Our target this year is to raise R7-million,” says Lloyd Madurai, managing director of HOT 102.7FM. “This will be a remarkable achievement to accomplish within just over 12 hours, but I have faith that our huge signal footprint, together with the generous hearts of our wonderful listeners, will ensure that we achieve this.”

The Teddython commenced on the Breakfast show at 06:00 and will continue throughout the day to the conclusion of The Big Joburg Drive at 18:30. There will additionally be activities and events at Papachinos.
