Hot 102.7 FM, in Johannesburg, South Africa has been nominated for three New York Festivals (NYF) 2024 Radio Awards.
As the only shortlisted entrant from Africa, the station made the short list for three entries. HOT 1027 Breakfast show, was shortlisted in the best music and personality category, while both the Padkos and Playdough project, and The Beginners Guide to Online Dating, were both nominated in the Human-Interest feature category.
“We are up for three awards at this year’s New York Radio Awards, which is seen as the Oscars of world class,” the station said.
Mesmerizing audio entries created by storytellers from around the world were judged online by NYF’s Radio Awards Grand Jury to determine the 2024 Radio Awards Shortlist.
Shortlisted entries include audiobooks, podcasts, dramas, documentaries, breaking news coverage, entertainment, and music specials from radio stations, networks, prominent production companies and independent producers.
Winners will be announced at the Storytellers Gala on April 16, while entries for the Radio Today Podcast Awards will open soon.
