Urban radio station Y 107.9 FM had Ghana’s leading shopping mall flooded with couples and singles in a charged romantic atmosphere on February 12, during its much-anticipated Paint “n” Sip event.
The Paint “n” Sip event is an initiative of YFM to celebrate the month of love across the country. It was marked with a night of love with a blend of music, poetry, karaoke, couples quiz, and soothing beverages.
The free admission event saw couples and lovers from all walks of life participating in the ‘Knowing you, knowing me’ game, karaoke, and the ultimate pleasure of painting while sipping assorted beverages.
The event was hosted by broadcasters Winston Michaels and Naa Dzama while the karaoke session was hosted by the host of the ‘Can you Karoake’ show on eTV and ‘Y Campus Express’ Jonny Stone.
The spectacular night witnessed performances by Ghana’s Beyoncé, Titi Owusu and Bryan Mensah, Jeny, Poet Timmy and Abitemi.
All the participants of the Paint “n” Sip event received a customized cake from Dear Dough and beaded necklaces from Rennys Glitters. Winners of the painting exercise received complimentary packs of Italian wine, Tavernello, fascinators and other stylish headpieces from Renny’s Glitters, operators of the Rennys Millinery School.
Mr and Mrs Nii Okai Quaye who emerged as the best couple from the event were rewarded with the ultimate prize of a special stay at the Ibis Style hotel.
Society For Family Health (SFH) climaxed the couples event with a safe sex education talk.
The Programs Manager at Y FM, Eddy Blay Jr, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to patrons of the event and to the entire staff of YFM and entreated listeners of the radio station to anticipate the upcoming events of the channel.
“I am very grateful to all who trooped in here from their various homes to participate in this event. I am marvelled by the numbers I am seeing here. I will use this opportunity to thank all staff of YFM as well as staff from GMA who have supported us and continue to support us,” he said.
Eunice Tornyi, the project lead of Paint and Sip expressed appreciation to the sponsors of the event whose support made it possible to have a thrilling event.
