Cape Town’s leading music focused interactive lifestyle radio station. Good Hope FM has launched its line-up and newly rebranded studios.
The exclusive event saw clients, media and staff joining Good Hope FM’s presenters in celebrating the station’s 2024 line-up, the new look studios, as well as some innovative and exciting upcoming events.
Good Hope FM’s Weekend Special presenter and MC for the event Carissa Cupido said it was a day to celebrate Cape Town’s original with music, mixes, news, content, competitions and major festivals and events “in and around the Mother City that truly moves our audience.”
Cupido added, “following our brand relaunch in February 2023, we’ve seen some solid growth at the station. Being the first station to bring exciting events like R&B lunches to South Africa, being the preferred media partner to ULTRA, and being nominated for seven SA Radio Awards, we’re making some serious waves.”
The station management reemphasized that, in keeping with a winning recipe for growth, engagement and solid client ROI, changes have been kept to a minimum.
With the new lineup, Saturdays will now see Lord Veezus (‘LV’) presenting a new dance show called The Clubhouse from 22:00 to 01:00. Fauzia Bull has moved to Sundays 22:00 to 01:00 for her new show called Sunday Chilla.
The former part-time news presenter Meghan Hector is now presenting news on Weekend Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday between 06:00 and 09:00, as well as on The Sunday Feela with Rinaldo Felaar on Sunday mornings from 09:00 to midday.
Zahraa Schroeder is now presenting news on The Weekend Special with Carissa Cupido on Saturdays and Sundays from 15:00 to 18:00.
The station also announced that it will be kicking into high gear with some exciting events and community initiatives. These include a celebration of ‘30 years of democracy’ with location-based outside broadcasts — the first two at the district 6 Museum and Iziko museum respectively, with Robben Island likely to follow.
‘Keep Cape Town Warm’ will be one of the biggest drives in the city to protect those most vulnerable from the bitter cold, according to the station.
Goodhope FM says that it will go on the road with listeners with the Big Stan Taxi — driving listeners to work and school in style while broadcasting live — and Saaiman Says Live Sessions to promote Cape Town’s up-and-coming artists through intimate and epic free performances at the Sea Point auditorium.
Good Hope look at a stellar line-up and our newly branded studios, as well as our plans for the future and know that Cape Town’s original and best is just getting better.”
“We’re on a great trajectory and our listeners, as well as clients from local, regional, national and multi-national brands are really feeling Good Hope FM’s vibe and punching power,” adds Muller.
“We’re looking forward to what lies ahead and, of course, to continue pushing the boundaries of great radio,” Muller concludes.
