MediaHeads 360 and Media Host have announced an expanded commitment to strengthening South Africa’s community radio sector, following the successful pilot rollout of their advanced monitoring and verification technology earlier this year.
The partnership aims to boost transparency, accountability, and advertiser confidence within community broadcasting by equipping stations with reliable data and performance tracking tools. The next phase will extend this technology to more stations nationwide, enabling community broadcasters to compete more effectively within the wider radio advertising market.
“Community radio is a vital voice in South Africa,” says Candy Dempers, managing director at MediaHeads 360. “We want to ensure these stations have the support and credibility they need to grow.”
Media Host CEO Shanaaz Nel says the initiative is designed to help community stations operate with the same confidence as major broadcasters. “This is about building trust between stations, advertisers, and audiences,” she noted.
The project continues to benefit from the involvement of Radio Active Media, whose strong relationships in the community radio space remain central to the initiative’s impact.
