Radio Wologizi FM 87.9 praises Lofa senator for sifesaving support

A local radio station in Northern Liberia, Wologizi FM 87.9, has praised Senator Momo Cyrus of Lofa County for his timely financial and material support during a series of devastating setbacks that nearly shut down the station.

The station in a statement revealed it has faced two major disasters in recent months that threatened its operations and connection with the community. The first came when a violent storm tore off the studio’s roof, forcing the station off-air and causing significant structural damage.

In that moment of crisis, when we cried out for help, Senator Cyrus answered,” the release said. “With swift compassion, he donated 20 ceiling tiles and 5 gallons of paint—a lifeline when we needed it most.”

Just as the station began to recover, a second blow hit. On June 18, 2025, lightning struck the studio, destroying over $2,000 worth of broadcast equipment and once again silencing Wologizi FM’s signal. In response, Senator Cyrus provided $400 in personal support to help the station begin the process of restoring its voice to the community.

The management of Wologizi FM expressed deep gratitude, describing the senator’s assistance as a beacon during their darkest storms.

“Your unwavering support and open doors have been our beacon through the darkest storms. The entire Wologizi FM/TV family thank you for standing with us—and with Lofa County.”

Senator Cyrus’ support has allowed the station to gradually return to the airwaves, continuing its role as a vital source of information, education, and unity for the people of Lofa County.
