Veteran Kenyan broadcaster Amina Fakii dies at 83, nation pays tribute

Veteran Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) radio presenter Amina Fakii has died at the age of 83, prompting an outpouring of tributes from across Kenya’s media and public life.

Fakii passed away on Sunday, December 21. Her family announced that she would be laid to rest later the same day at 4 p.m

Celebrated as one of the most recognizable and trusted voices on national radio, Fakii enjoyed a distinguished career at KBC, formerly known as the Voice of Kenya (VoK). Her distinctive voice, engaging delivery and strong sense of public service made her a familiar presence in households across the country.
