Radio Nigeria and Dangote Industries Limited deepen media corporate partnership for national development

Nigeria’s public broadcaster, Radio Nigeria, is moving to strengthen its collaboration with the private sector following a high-level engagement with Dangote Industries Limited, one of Africa’s largest industrial groups.

The strategic visit, led by Princess Adenike Adegoke, Director of Lagos Operations at Radio Nigeria, signals a growing effort to align broadcast media with corporate communication to support national development goals.

She was received by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries, who described the meeting as a key step toward building partnerships capable of expanding the visibility and impact of the company’s operations.

Dangote Industries operates across multiple sectors, including cement production, petroleum refining, and consumer goods. According to Chiejina, collaboration with a broadcaster of Radio Nigeria’s scale offers an opportunity to connect these activities to wider audiences, particularly at the grassroots level.

He emphasized that radio remains one of the most effective platforms for public education in Nigeria, especially in explaining complex sectors such as construction, energy, and industrial production.

With Nigeria positioning itself as a growing player in petroleum production and exports, Chiejina noted that the media has a crucial role in highlighting economic progress and encouraging entrepreneurship.

Adegoke highlighted Radio Nigeria’s extensive network, which includes more than 40 stations nationwide, alongside strong digital and social media platforms. She said this reach makes the broadcaster a powerful tool for information dissemination, public enlightenment, and national integration.

Radio continues to play a central role in connecting with communities and shaping public understanding of key national issues,” she noted.

The Lagos Operations alone, she added, runs multiple FM stations with wide coverage across southwestern Nigeria, enabling targeted and inclusive communication strategies.

Both organizations identified several areas for collaboration, including Promoting locally manufactured goods, developing educational programming on industrial processes, broadcasting content focused on infrastructure, oil and gas, and entrepreneurship, as well as supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through awareness campaigns.

The partnership is also expected to leverage Radio Nigeria’s flagship programs and news platforms to highlight Dangote Industries’ contributions to economic growth while ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to building a results-driven partnership that merges media influence with corporate innovation. Analysts say such collaborations reflect a broader trend in Africa, where public broadcasters and private companies are increasingly working together to drive development narratives and economic awareness.

As Nigeria continues to navigate economic transformation, the partnership between Radio Nigeria and Dangote Industries underscores the enduring importance of radio as a bridge between industry, government, and the public.
